A Decades-Long Journey through Phillies Scorecards

Back in 2019, I found myself venturing into some freelance writing about Philadelphia sports for FanSided. And one of my earliest ideas was to take advantage of the mound of old Phillies scorecards from games that I had attended years prior, choose a few of them, and write up ‘recap’ articles that would be published on the anniversary of when the game was played. I had no shortage of games to choose from, having kept score at dozens of Phillies games over a time period spanning approximately a decade, from 1997 to 2007. I even had a few from Phillies road games that I attended, and some that were from other MLB games that the Phillies weren’t even playing in, like during my first ever visit to Fenway Park in 2000.
